Romantic Short Stories /Always You

“Hey, tomorrow’s your wedding day.” Kurt said.
“I know. I can’t believe it.” Liana replied.
“Yeah, me neither. Just yesterday, I was making your wedding dress and you’re getting married tomorrow.” He sighed.
“By the way, thanks.” Liana sighed.
“Kurt, don’t take me wrong. Are you gay?”
Kurt laughed and shook his head.
“No. I just happen to be a guy with a passion for designing. And I did have a girlfriend.”
Liana failed to notice that Kurt used ‘did have’ instead of ‘have’.
“Yeah, I forgot about Jessica. When are you planning on marrying her?” Liana asked.
“Never. We just broke up moments ago.”
“What? Why?”
“I don’t love her anymore.”
“Ouch. I hope that won’t happen to me tomorrow.” Liana said.
“It won’t. Steve will be stupid if he leaves you.”
Liana laughed and kissed her best friend on the lips.
“Good night, Kurt. See you tomorrow.”
She went out of the shop and back to her condo.
Kristine came out from the back room.
“When are you going to tell her that you love her?” She asked.
“Never. I’m going to lose her.”
“But she deserves to know what you feel for her, right?”
“Yeah, but…”
“If you don’t tell her, you’ll be more stupid than Steve if he doesn’t show up on his own wedding.”
“You overheard?” Kurt asked.
“Of course. Besides, I’m getting bored of posing as your employee. For once, treat me like your sister.”
“You are my sister. You just don’t seem to act like one.” Kurt said.
“Whatever.”
Kristine left him and went out of the shop. Kurt took one last look at the shop and went out with his tuxedo.
- The Wedding Day -
“Liana, please calm down. He’ll show up.” Kristine said.
“But he’s thirty minutes late!” Liana said, walking everywhere.
“Liana,” Kristine held her by the shoulders.
“Steve’s going to show up! Get a grip!”
“I want to see Kurt.” She said.

Kurt heard his name and went to them.
“What do you need?” He asked.
“Kurt…” Kristine’s gaze went from Liana to Kurt and back to Liana.
“I’ll handle this.” He whispered.

Kristine nodded and left them.
“Kurt? I don’t want to be embarrassed.” Liana said.
“You won’t be.”
“How are you sure?”
“I’m really sure.” Kurt said.
Suddenly, Steve’s car came into Liana’s view. Someone came out of the car and it’s not Steve.
“I’m sorry everybody! Steve doesn’t love Liana anymore. He wants to call of the wedding!” Earl said.
Liana collapsed in Kurt’s arms.
“Liana? God, Liana, wake up!” Kurt said.
He slapped her face gently.
“Kristine! Others! Help me! Liana’s unconscious!”
At that moment, everybody ran towards Kurt and Kristine called for an ambulance.
- At The Hospital -
Kurt was still in his tuxedo as he sat on the chair near Liana’s bed. His thumb caressed her hand.
“Liana, I know you can’t hear me because you’re still unconscious. I can’t believe Steve did that to you. He’s so stupid. I wish I was the one who asked you to marry me. But before that, I wish I told you that ever since I met you, there wasn’t a day I spent without thinking about you. To make things easier, I love you and I want you to marry me.” Kurt said.
Liana’s electrocardiograph monitor beeped abnormally for some moments.
Kurt, if only you could hear me. I wanted to tell you the same. I was so relieved that you broke up with Jessica. However, it was too late then as I was going to get married today. Luckily, Steve called it off. Kurt, I want us to be more than friends.

“Liana, if you wake up, I want to be your first vision.”
You are always my first vision, Kurt. Although I didn’t notice that you like me when we were young, I could feel your love deep inside me.
“I want to be your only love.”
You are my one and only love, always and forever.
“But before all these things can happen, I want you to wake up.”
I want to, but I’m still weak.
“I’ll talk to you when you’re awake. I love you.” Kurt said.
I’ll talk to you when I’m awake. I love you.
They both said and thought of the same words.
Kurt caressed her hand and kissed Liana on the lips.
“I won’t be going anywhere.”
I know you won’t.

- After A Few Days -
Liana woke up after a few days in the hospital. Kurt stayed beside her every day. Kristine brought around his clothes and things that he needed.
“Liana, I want to give you a gift.”
Liana laughed.
“Why are you going to give me a gift? There’s no wedding.”
“I know. It’s something important.”
“How important is it?”
Very important, he thought.
“You’ll see.”
“Okay…”
“And the gift’s in Europe.”
“What? Europe?”
“Yeah. We’ll be leaving in two weeks.”
“What? That early? I haven’t recovered yet.”
“You’ll recover, Liana.”
“Kurt, you’re so impossible.” She said with a laugh.
“You think it’s impossible for you to recover?”
“No, what I meant about impossible is your gift.”
“What’s so impossible about it?”
“Everything. You booked two tickets without even asking me.”
“Why should I still ask? We travelled together before.”
Liana sighed.
“Point taken.”
“So, I’ll leave you to pack your clothes, okay?”
“Yeah…”
“Take care.”
Kurt kissed her lips and went out.
- In Europe -
“Liana? I want you to wear something.” Kurt said.
“What is it?”
“This.”
“But, that’s my wedding gown… You brought it along?”
Liana was really disappointed. She looked at the worst dress of her life.
“Yeah, we’re going somewhere fancy. I want you to remember this day forever.”
“Stop this, Kurt. You’re not really funny.”
“So, you want something serious?”
“Yes. I want everything to be serious.”
“Then marry me. That’s something serious.”
Liana stood silently. She suddenly laughed and ran towards Kurt. She kissed him.
“I thought you’d never ask.”

The following week, Kurt and Liana got married in Europe with no one else knowing about it.
